I have a bunch of trips coming up and I am working on NOT overpacking! I recently found the βSudoku methodβ travel capsule and it is a game-changer because it takes the guesswork out of packing. Just like a Sudoku board, every piece has to work with the othersβno random fillers, no βjust in caseβ items that never get worn. Each top pairs with multiple bottoms, every layer complements your core pieces, and shoes coordinate across outfits. The result? A tightly edited suitcase where everything mixes and matches effortlessly. You get maximum outfit combinations from a minimal number of pieces, which means less overpacking and more actual wearing.

One of the key factors is finding quality pieces that work together. I tried out quite a few staples (and pulled some favs from the closet) to make an easy everyday capsule great for trips where I want to look nice but also stay comfortable. I also found a variety of price points for these staple items.

Planning out these outfits I realized there are even MORE outfit combinations, plus looking back at the pics I which I had switched the Anthropologie sweatpant jean for and even dark wash (dressier) jean. Also the Spanx stripe top works well with the Paige jean because both are more off-white. Pairing the white tee and button down didn’t look as good with the off-white jean so in the future I might go for all “bright white” for easier pairing.

AYR tee, L | Quince button down, L | Spanx stripe, XL | A&F trench, L | Similar Green Jacket, L | Sweater, L | Quince jeans, 31 | Paige white jeans, 31 size up if in-between | Sweatpant jeans run very large size down, 30
When I started talking about this style of packing I got a few more “requests” for warm weather vacation as well as a chic business casual capsule that can be used for conferences so here you go!
